The 27 students who died on April 16, 2007 in the bloody massacre at Virginia Polytechnic Institute received honorary degrees during the graduation ceremonies. The killings were the worst massacre by a single shooter in US history.

In their honor, the names of the students, along with the professors who died, were read out at the ceremony and each dead student recieved their diploma.

Cho Seung-Hui, the 23-year-old English student from South Korea who opened fire in a dorm room and classrooms, killing 32 people, did not have his name read out nor did he receive a diploma.

So stay in school, don't shoot anybody and get your diploma.
